City’s Taste of Bermuda Event to Kickoff Next Month

Hamilton – August 16, 2021

The City of Hamilton is thrilled to announce that Taste of Bermuda: Drive-in Experience – Hamilton's most delicious and fun food festival – is now just over a month away!

Taste of Bermuda Drive-in Experience will be held in Par-La-Ville Car Park September 24-26, 2021, subject to Government approval.

This bespoke culinary experience has been designed for attendees to enjoy from the comfort of their cars.

The City’s Director of Marketing & Communications Mrs Jessica Astwood, said of the event, “Our main goal is to provide a safe and responsible, food-centric, contactless event that will allow for an elevated experience in the wake of COVID-19 in the City as well as create opportunities for our City eateries. By doing a drive-through event, the public remain in the comfort of their car and can enjoy the full experience in a safe and socially distanced way.

“Encouraged by the success of last year’s Taste of Bermuda: Drive-in Experience, which saw over $40,000 in receipts from City restaurants, we wanted to make this one even bigger with more food giveaways, live culinary stations and even more dynamic vendors! Each night will feature different culinary items found in Bermuda and up to 1,000 sample sizes of the various food & beverage items will be provided to event attendees each night.”

The public can expect the car park to be transformed into an experiential drive-through event space, featuring cooking demos and loads of giveaways.

To encourage economic activity in our food and beverage industry, we will require a receipt valued at $25 or more from any City eatery between August 26 and September 26 for entry.

The City reminds the public that entry to the event is only in a vehicle. Pedestrians and bikes will not be granted entry. City officials and security will be on-site to ensure that all safety guidelines are adhered to. Portable bathrooms will be available, and attendees must wear a mask when accessing them as well as upon initial entry into the event and when interacting with event staff. All attendees will require a valid SafeKey.

Additional information, including a schedule of events, will be made available as event details are confirmed, via the City’s social media channels and website.
