City Sponsors Latest Made in Bermuda Night

Hamilton – October 12, 2022

The City of Hamilton is proud to sponsor the latest event in the Made in Bermuda Nights series, organized by PinkSand Entertainment LLC.

The lively street event, which is free to everyone, will take place on Friday, October 14th from 7:30pm until 10pm along Court and Dundonald Street to celebrate the official dedication of Dudley Eve Park earlier in the day.

The fun-filled evening will feature host Patrina Paynter, DJ iBreeze, Livewires & the Kings Band, popular food and drink vendors and H&H Gombeys.

Event organizers have been working with local food and drink establishments such as Place’s Place, Jamaican Grill, Taste the Rainbow, the Bermuda Cupcake Company and Soul Food to ensure there are plenty of delectable delights to go around!

The soon-to-be-named Dudley Eve Park (located on the corner of Court and Dundonald Streets) is a public space which, on Friday, will formally recognize distinguished Bermudian sports administrator Alfred ‘Dudley’ Tucker Eve Sr. (1916-1978) who lived on this property with his family from 1942 to 1962, during which time it functioned as an informal community playground. Dudley Eve was a Bermuda Sports Hall of Fame inductee who facilitated the sporting careers of some of Bermuda’s top athletes and was instrumental in organizing the amalgamation of Bermuda’s black and white football leagues into one body.

The naming of the park on Friday coincides with the completion of works by the City of Hamilton which includes the addition of a further staircase at the Court Street side of the park to improve access and security for park goers.

The City’s Director of Marketing and Communications Jessica Astwood said, “We are inviting members of the public to come and dance the night away under the stars to the sounds of local entertainers! Partnering with PinkSand Entertainment for this event was a great way to support local area businesses, add vitality to the area, and bring further awareness to Dudley Eve himself after whom the park will be formally named on Friday.”

The rain date for this event will be October 21st.

Made In Bermuda looks to promote Bermuda – her culture and her people – with unique activities deeply connected to Bermudian tradition and art.
