City Advises of Road Closures for World Triathlon Championship Series

Hamilton – October 25th, 2022

The City of Hamilton is advising road users of several scheduled road closures and traffic advisories over the next few days relating to the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS) taking place in Bermuda from October 30th to November 6th.

The following streets and car parks will be closed for the WTCS Triathlon and events leading up to the main event:

Sunday, October 30th:

#1 Car Park, Front Street
#5 Car Park, Front Street
These car parks will be closed from 6:00am that day until Tuesday November 8th

Front Street
No Parking between Queen Street and Pickled Onion

Wednesday, November 2nd:
Front Street
This street will be closed to traffic between Queen Street and Burnaby Hill from 6am that day until 6:00am Monday, November 7th. An access lane will be provided from 7:30am to 9:30am (westbound) and from 4pm to 6pm (eastbound).

Friday, November 4th:
City Hall Car Park
This car park will be closed from 6:00am that day until 6:00am Sunday November 6th

No Parking of any vehicles on the following streets from 3:00am to allow for the placement of barricades and branding:

  • Front Street
  • Reid Street
  • Church Street – between Queen and Burnaby
  • Wesley Street
  • Queen Street
  • Dismont Drive
  • Cedar Avenue
  • Burnaby Street
  • Parliament Street – between Church and Front

Queen Street will be restricted to one lane from 6:00am

Saturday, November 5th:
The following roads will be CLOSED with NO PARKING for the Age Group Race:

  • Front Street – between Bermudiana and Court – from 4:00am
  • Front Street – between Court and East Broadway – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Reid Street – between Queen and Court – from 4:00am
  • Reid Street – between Court and Spurling Hill – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Church Street – between Queen and Burnaby – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Victoria Street – between Parliament and Wesley – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Park Road – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Serpentine Road – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Bermudiana Road – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Par-la-Ville Road – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Rosebank Road – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Point Pleasant Road (Albuoys Point) – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Wesley Street – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Queen Street – from 4:00am
  • Dismont Drive – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Washington Street – between Dundonald and Church – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Cedar Avenue – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Burnaby Street – from 4:00am
  • Parliament Street – between Church and Front – from 4:00am
  • Court Street – between Church and Front – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • King Street – between Church and Front – from 4:00am to 1:30pm

The following car parks will be CLOSED in addition to those listed above:

  • Par-la-Ville – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • Cavendish – from 4:00am to 1:30pm
  • #8 Car Park – Front Street – from 4:00am to 1:30pm

Sunday, November 6th:
The following roads will be CLOSED with NO PARKING for the Elite Race:

  • Front Street -between Bermudiana and East Broadway – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Reid Street – between Queen and Spurling Hill – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Point Pleasant Road (Albuoys Point) – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Bermudiana Road – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Par-la-Ville Road between Church and Front- from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Rosebank Road – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Queen Street – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Burnaby Street – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Parliament Street – between Church and Front– from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • Court Street – between Church and Front - from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • King Street – between Church and Front - from 4:00am to 4:30pm

The following car parks will be Closed in addition to those listed above:

  • Cavendish – from 4:00am to 4:30pm
  • #8 Car Park – Front Street – from 4:00am to 4:30pm

All cars and motorcycles left within closed roads or car parks will be towed at the owners’ expense due to safety concerns.

In addition, the Bermuda Police are hereby authorised to “close-off” streets or portions of streets, direct traffic and restrict and authorise parking as the Commissioner of Police decides.
