City Announces Scavenger Hunt Winners

The City of Hamilton is excited to announce the winners of its City Scavenger Hunt which took place over the weekend.
A total of 105 teams took part in the hunts on Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 with two hunts on each day.
The hunt took participants all around the City from Waterfront Square on Front Street to Doctor’s Row on Court Street. It saw people singing karaoke, building toy boats out of popsicle sticks, guessing the ingredients in bespoke beverages, completing an Oreo cookie challenge, using a magnifying glass to read hidden messages, playing a game of ‘Operation’, and using night vision goggles to find the Town Crier’s hat in the dark among many, many other fun team challenges.
The overall winning team with the fastest time is “De Bud Gals” who completed the hunt (including finishing all missions and guessing all the clues) in 1 hour and 2 minutes. They won DJI Mini Drones and Home Theatre Systems.
The first-place winner for Friday’s hunts is “De Bud Gals” who won Samsung Galaxy Tablets.
The second-place winner for Friday’s hunts is “We Find All The Things!” who won One Communications Gift Vouchers courtesy of One Communications.
The third-place winner for Friday’s hunts is “Unusual Suspect” who won Roku StreamBars.
The first-place winner for Saturday’s hunts is “Fitzy’s Finest” who won 40” Smart TVs.
The second-place winner for Saturday’s hunts is “Island Hoppers” who won iHome Portable Speakers.
The third-place winner for Saturday’s hunts is “Juvenile Delinquents” who won Smart Watches.
The prize for best-dressed team went to Lucky Charms who won Twizzy 1-Day Rental Passes.
The City’s Senior Events & Marketing Coordinator Tamara Bradshaw said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the success of the City’s second Scavenger Hunt. All four hunts were at capacity a week before the event, so we knew that word had spread from last year’s hunt!
“It was really fun to watch everyone having such a blast! The energy and enthusiasm of participants were outstanding; and I really want to commend the teams who took the extra step of dressing up in matching team outfits! As with last year’s hunt, the makeup of the groups was so varied – there were groups of friends, work colleagues, families, couples – and everyone took the hunt at their own pace with some running from spot to spot as fast as they could with others using the hunt as an opportunity to socialize!
“Saturday’s hunt was geared more towards children and families, and I heard that the little ones really enjoyed kicking the football into the net at Queen Elizabeth Park!
“We were pleased to be able to bring this unique, fun and engaging experience to the people of Bermuda and will definitely look to feature another scavenger hunt in our events line-up next year.”
The event was COVID compliant and was organized to be as contactless as possible.
Ms Bradshaw added: “We wanted to give back to the community; COVID-19 has been really hard for our businesses and island residents. This is one of the reasons we required teams to present a receipt with a minimum value of $25.00 from any City business between February 11th- March 12th on arrival at the start of the hunt to be eligible to take part. We are pleased to announce that the total value of receipts collected for this event was $8546.05.
In one of the challenges, participants had to kick a football into the goal, with the City donating $3 for every goal scored to charity. A total of 495 goals were scored through the weekend, totally $1,485 which will be donated to The Family Centre.
