Lane Closure Due to Road Paving on Court Street

Hamilton – March 1st, 2023

The City of Hamilton advises motorists, area businesses and the general public of traffic disruption on Court Street due to road paving starting on Monday, March 6th through March 10th. The southbound lane of Court Street will be closed to traffic between Church Street and Reid Street. There will be no street parking on either side of this block of Court Street during this time. The northbound lane will remain open to vehicular traffic. The work is estimated to take five days. A traffic notice has been issued.

Assistant Superintendent of Parking Management, Fred Richardson, said of the roadworks, “Ideally, the paving on the eastern end of Front Street will be completed by the end of day today.  The road has to be left to cure for at least three days as long as the weather cooperates. The road will be reopened when it is safe to do so, estimated to be over the coming weekend with road marking scheduled for Sunday. The project will be completed well ahead of schedule.

“We’d like to assure the public that work on Court Street will not begin until Front Street is fully reopened. We thank the public for their patience while we continue this important work.”

All work is weather dependent.

The public are encouraged to exercise caution in the area. Signage and barriers will be in place. The City apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these necessary upgrades.
